Where to actually get a Bacon King burger in South Africa

If you’re like me, there’s a good chance you haven’t had one of Burger King’s new Bacon King burgers yet. Why? Because only a few of their outlets are selling them, and tracking down a list of those branches isn’t easy.

Over the past two weeks, I’ve found myself in areas I don’t normally visit and in need of a quick meal. Each time, I’ve wanted a Bacon King and each time I’ve been disappointed. Trawling through Google results, the Burger King website, and most social media channels come up with almost no info about where to buy the burger. Maybe I’m looking in the wrong places, but the store listing seems to be sporadically listed by the official Facebook and Twitter channels. It should actually be the pinned tweet on Burger King SA’s account.

And that’s when I decided to write this handy guide. Here are all of the Burger King South Africa branches that sell that Bacon King (and aren’t Halaal, either).

What is it?

The Bacon King was announced on the 17th of September, 2019. It consists of mayonnaise, tomato sauce, three rashes of bacon, two layers of cheese, and two beef patties.

In a press release posted on Media Update, group marketing executive at Burger King, Ezelna Jones says: “After some extensive research, we’ve added the BACON KING to the menu. But we didn’t stop there, we’re changing our name to BACON KING in a move that seems only fitting to mark the launch period of bacon in South Africa.”
